This morning started off with a full pot of coffee and ended with over a dozen of Red Velvet cupcakes and heart shaped sugar cookies.
We attempted a new recipe.. The Red Velvet cupcake recipe came from Martha Stewart cookbook but was found on another bakers blog...While Stephanie read the recipe out load to Ashlene and I one comment stood out "I didn't add cocoa but I think I will next time." After we finally got moving it was time to fill the cupcake pans. At that very moment of placing the first batch in oven we realize that we completely forgot to add the cocoa. I have to say the final result came out great and Ashlene and Steph frosting techniques improved with every cupcake!
After all said and done this morning..we had great conversation and our baking can only get better. Nat and Payton had a great time playing together. It is amazing how much they learn from one another. I do have to say Payton has finally met her match when it comes to who is in charge:)
